Sinuspinde muna ng Senate Blue Ribbon Committee ang imbestigasyon sa mga umano’y anomalya sa flood control projects.
Ayon kay Sen. Panfilo Lacson, walang pagdinig sa susunod na linggo, matapos malamang hindi pa handa ang mga hinihingi nilang dokumento sa Department of Justice (DOJ) at Manila Regional Trial Court (RTC).
Nabatid na nakatakda sana ang pagdinig ng panel sa Oktubre 8, na orihinal na itinakda sa kahilingan ni Senador JV Ejercito upang ipatawag si dating DPWH Regional Director IV-B Engr. Gerald A. Pacanan.
Dagdag pa rito, may sabayang pagdinig para sa budget at Commission on Appointments (CA) na magdudulot ng conflict sa schedule ng lupon.
Dahil dito, ipinaalam ni Lacson kay Senate President Vicente “Tito” Sotto III ang pansamantalang pagkansela ng pagdinig hanggang sa magkaroon ng mas angkop na panahon at kumpletong dokumentasyon.
“To maximize the discussions, I checked with the DOJ if the supposed “tell-all” affidavit/s of the Discayas were already available. Corollary to that, I also checked with the office of the executive judge of Manila RTC if they have concluded the investigation on the possible violations of the notarized document involving TSgt Guteza and Atty Espera. Having been informed that both would not be ready within one week, not to mention that the BRC hearing will be in conflict with the budget and CA hearings, I informed SP Sotto of the cancellation until further notice,” wika ni Lacson.
