Pinalawig ni Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos Jr ang temporaryong pagpapababa ng taripa sa mga iba’t-ibang uri ng produkto para mapanatili ang abot-kayang presyo at matiyak ang suplay ng mga produktong agrikultura.
Pirmado ng Pangulo ang Executive Order 10 noong Disyembre 29 na ang mga karne ng baboy, fresh, chilled o frozen, maize, rice at coal ay dapat mabigyan ng Most Favored Nation (MFN) rates on duty.
Nakasaad sa nasabing kautusan na mahalaga ang nasabing pagpapalawig ng pagbabawas ng taripa para makatulong sa mga tao dahil sa pagtaas ng ilang presyo ng bilihin.
“The current global economic situation brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic, as well as other factors affecting the country’s traditional sources of rice, corn, coal, and fresh, chilled or frozen meat of swine, cause uncertainty in the steady supply of said commodities,The high inflation caused by supply constraints, expected shortage in the global supply and rise in international commodity prices present economic and trade implications to the country and the Filipino people,” base sa nasabing kautusan.
