Nasa 178,022 na ang bilang ng tinamaan ng pandemic na coronavirus disease (COVID-19) sa Pilipinas, ayon sa Department of Health (DOH).
Ngayong hapon nag-ulat ang ahensya ng 4,339 na mga bagong kaso ng sakit, na resulta ng submission ng 100 mula sa 109 na laboratoryo.
Mula sa mga nadagdag na COVID-19 cases, higit 3,000 ang nag-positibo sa nakalipas na 14 na araw. Karamihan dito ang galing pa rin sa NCR, Calabarzon at grupo ng repatriates o mga umuwing Pilipino galing abroad.
“Of the 4,339 reported cases today, 3,213(74%) occurred within the recent 14 days (August 7-20, 2020). The top regions with cases in the recent two weeks were NCR (1,737 or 54%), Region 4A (462 or 14%) and Repatriates (442 or 14%.)”
Ang bilang naman ng mga nagpapagaling pa o active cases ay nasa higit 61,000.
Samantala, 727 ang nadagdag sa total recoveries na ngayon ay nasa 114,114. Habang 88 ang additional sa total deaths na nasa 2,883 na.
“Of the 88 deaths, 40 (45%) in August, 27 (31%) in July, 19 (22%) in June, and 2 (2%) in May. Deaths were from Region 7 (42 or 48%), NCR (34 or 39%), Region 6 (5 or 6%), Region 4A (4 or 5%), Region 9 (1 or 1%), Region 1 (1 or 1%), and CAR (1 or 1%.)”
Mayroong 91 duplicates daw na inalis ang DOH sa total case count, kung saan 43 ang recovered cases.
“Moreover, there were fifty-one (51) cases that were previously reported as recovered but after final validation, they were deaths (50) and active (1) cases. These numbers undergo constant cleaning and validation.”
