Pormal nang nag-assume bilang bagong Commanding General ng Philippine Army ngayong araw si M/Gen. Andres Centino, kapalit ni Lt..Gen. Jose Faustino.
Mismong si Defense Secretary Delfin Lorenzana ang nanguna sa Turn-over ceremony sa Fort Bonifacio sa Taguig City.
Pinalitan ni Centino si Lt Gen. Jose Faustino na itinalaga namang Special Assistant to the Chief of Staff on Peace and Development ng AFP.
Bago hirangin bilang bagong Army Chief, si Centino ay Commander ng 4th Infantry Division.
Naging Commander din si Centino ng 26th Infantry Battalion nuong 2008; Secretary Army General Staff nuong 2013; Commander ng 401st Infantry Brigade nuong 2017 at Deputy Chief of Staff for Operations o J3 ng AFP nuong 2019.
Sina Faustino at Centino ay mag “mistah” o magka kaklase sa Philippine Military Academy o PMA Maringal Class of 1988.
Sa kaniyang talumpati, kinilala ni Lorenzana ang mga nagawa ni Faustino sa tatlong buwang termino nito habang umaasa naman siyang itutuloy ni Centino ang pinaigting na kampaniya laban sa terrorismo at Insurgency sa bansa.

Sa talumpati naman ni Maj. Gen. Centino kaniyang sisiguraduhin na mananatiling pokus ang Philippine Army sa kanilang misyon lalo na sa kahandaaan sa pagtugon sa pangangailangan ng ibat ibang mga area commands.
Tiniyak din ni Centino na kaniya pang palalakasin ang kanilang operations readiness, intelligence, logistics and training para sa mga sundalo na isasabak sa mga operasyon at iba pang mga misyon.
” As a force provider we will strongly support the unified commands campaigns all kinds of threat groups, as we manage and allocate our resources all around the army, the army is not limited in the confineds of this headquarters, the army is outhere in the field,” pahayag ni MGen. Centino.
