Pinangungunahan ni PNP, The Deputy Chief for Administration (TDCA) PLt. Gen. Joselito Vera Cruz ang pag-turn over ng P944,000 halaga ng bala at armas sa Bureau of Corrections (BuCor).
Ang mga armas na donasyon ng PNP ay tinanggap ni BuCor Director-General, Usec. Gerald Bantag at Asec. Milfredo Melegrito sa isinagawang turnover ceremony sa Camp Crame kahapon.
Kabilang dito ang 40 units ng iba’t-ibang modelo ng 12-gauge shotgun, 2,000 rounds 12-gauge shotshells, 40 units ng iba’t-ibang modelo na cal .38 revolver, at 960 rounds ng Ctg. ball cal .38.
Ang mga nasabing kagamitan ay hindi na bahagi ng supply line ng PNP at klasipikado na bilang “disposable properties”.
“Yes Anne serviceable lahat. Nag upgrade lang kami ng firepower capability kaya nag dispose kami ng hindi na namin nagagamit thru donation nga to another government agency na authorized gumamit ng firearms,” mensahe ni PLt.Gen. Vera Cruz sa Bombo Radyo.
Pinili ng PNP na i-donate na lamang ang mga kagamitan sa BUCOR upang magamit ng mga jail Guards sa pagmantini ng kaayusan at seguridad sa mga piitan.
” Under the PNP Memorandum Circular No.2017-17 or the Revised Guidelines and Procedures in the Disposal of the Philippine National Police Property, Plant and Equipment, Transfer of Property isa one of the modes of disposal. With this, we are glad to choose the BuCor as our recipient,” dagdag na pahayag ni Vera Cruz.
Nagpasalamat naman si Usec. Bantag kay PNP Chief PGen. Guillermo Eleazar sa suporta ng PNP sa BuCor.
Sa kabilang dako, mensahe naman ni PNP Chief Gen. Guillermo Eleazar na binasa ni PLt. Gen. Vera Cruz, binigyang-diin nito ang malakas na partnership ng PNP at ng Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) lalo na sa paglaban sa criminality at lawlesssness.
Magugunita na nuong 2019, batay sa direktiba ng Pang. Rodrigo Duterte, nasa 200 personnel mula sa Special Action Force (SAF) ang dineploy ng PNP sa Bucor para tuldukan ang iligal na aktibidad ng mga big-time drug traffickers.
“Ang mga kagamitan na ito ay dapat lamang maibigay sa tamang ahensya na alam naming gagamitin rin sa pagpapatupad ng katahimikan at kaayusan sa ating bansa. This will further supplement the logistical requirements of BuCor in performing its mandate as the lead agency in the corrections pillar of the Philippine Criminal Justice System,” mensahe ni PGen. Eleazar.
