Pinuri ni AFP chief of staff General Jose Faustino Jr. ang tropa ng 6th Infantry Division ng Philippine Army sa pagkakapatay sa teroristang si Salahuddin Hassan at kanyang misis na si Jehana Minbida.
Si Hassan, ang emir ng Daulah Islamiyah-Hassan group at overall emir ng Daulah Islamiyah-Philippines.
Itinuturo itong nasa likod ng serye ng pambobomba at pag-atake sa Maguindanao, North Cotabato, at Sultan Kudarat.
Ayon kay Faustino, isang malaking dagok sa Daulah Islamiyah-Hassan group ang pagkakapatay sa kanilang lider at tiyak daw na mabubuwag ang grupo.
Naging matagumpay aniya ang operasyon ng militar dahil sa suporta ng publiko sa pamamagitan ng ‘whole-of-nation approach.’
Malaking bagay aniya ang pag-neutralize sa mga local terrorists kaya hindi titigil ang militar sa pagtugis sa mga ito hangga’t hindi sila nauubos.
Tinukoy din ni Faustino ang Preventing and Countering Violent Extremism (PCVE) programs upang maiwasan ang recruitment ng mga terorista sa mga komunidad.
“We attribute the successes of our operations against local terrorists to the dedication and perseverance of our soldiers, and the growing support of our people in the whole-of-nation approach towards peace and development,” pahayag ni Lt.Gen. Faustino.
