Nasa 13 miyembro ng Communist Terrorist Group, New People’s Army (NPA) ang sumuko sa mga operating troops ng 37th Infantry Battalion sa Kalamansig, Sultan Kudarat nuong Martes, June1,2021.
Isinuko din ng mga ito ang kanilang mga bitbit na anim na mga armas at iba pang mga war paraphernalia.
Ayon kay 6th ID Spokesperson Lt Col. John Paul Baldomar, ang 13 dating NPA rebels ay miyembro ng Sub-Regional Command (SRC)- Daguma sa ilalim ng Far South Mindanao Region.
Nais kasi ng mga dating rebelde na i avail ang programa ng gobyerno.
Ayon kay Colonel Eduardo Gubat, Commander ng 603rd Infantry Brigade, ang 13 sumukong dating NPA members ay dagdag duon sa 21 na nauna nang sumuko sa mga tropa ng 57th Infantry Battalion sa Lebak, Sultan Kudarat nuong June 1.
Agad namang binigyan ng cash at livelihood assistance nina Gov. Suharto Teng Mangudadatu at Mayor Rolando Garcia ng Kalamansig ang mga sumukong rebelde at sasailalim muna sa re-orientation process.
Pinuri naman ni 6th ID Commander MGen. Juvymax Uy ang mga sundalo sa kanilang effort na tapusin ang problema sa insurgency sa kanilang areas of responsibility.
Sa ngayon nasa 73 dating NPA rebels na ang sumuko sa 6th ID mula nuong buwan ng Enero at nasa 66 na mga assorted firearms at explosive ang kanilang nakumpiska.
“The series of mass surrender of former NPA members are manifestations that their organization is dwindling and in the brink of defeat. Through our intensified collaboration with the Regional Task Force – ELCAC XII, the Provincial and Municipal Government Units of Sultan Kudarat, and the community, we are hopeful to encourage other NPA members still in the mountains to surrender and live normal lives again with their families,” pahayag ni Maj.Gen. Uy.
