The Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) has approved a special rate of ₱3,500.00 for reviewing restored Filipino films, significantly lower than the previous ₱8,862.75 fee.

This initiative is detailed under Memorandum Circular No. 06-2025, part of the agency’s ongoing efforts to promote Filipino cultural heritage through cinema.

While full-length restored films will benefit from the discounted rate, trailers and related promotional materials will still be charged at the current standard fees.

The goal is to make film restoration and preservation more accessible, encouraging producers and advocates to revive culturally important films.

To avail of the discount, applicants must submit a letter of request, proof of restoration, and include proper attribution to original creators and the restoration team.

MTRCB hopes this move will inspire the local film industry to restore more classics, not just for their historical value but to reinforce meaningful and responsible film appreciation.
