Binanatan ngayon ng Malacañang ang paglalabas ng US State Department ng kanilang report sa umano’y human rights abuses sa Pilipinas sa ilalim ng kasalukuyang administrasyon.
Tinawag ni acting presidential spokesperson Martin Andanar ang report ng US State Department bilang “rehashed” at recycled.
Aniya, mistulang mga lumang isyu na raw ang ibinabato pa rin sa Duterte administration.
“The United States has once again displayed how infirmed its intelligence gathering is with its recent claim of ‘credible’ reports of human rights violations by the Philippine government in its State Department 2021 Country Reports on Human Rights Practices,” ani Andanar.
Kabilang nga raw sa “significant” human rights issues sa bansa na tinukoy ng US State Department sa kanilang 2021 Country Reports on Human Rights Practices ay ang mga sumusunod:
- – ang unlawful o arbitrary killings kabilang na ang extrajudicial killings na isinagawa ng government at nonstate actors;
- – ang mga napaulat na forced disappearance na isinisisisi sa gobyerno o nonstate actors;
- – torture na umano’y isinagawa ng government at nonstate actors;
- – ang malupit at life-threatening na kondisyon ng mga piitan sa bansa
- – arbitrary detention ng government at nonstate actors;
- – ang seryosong problema sa isyu ng pagiging independent ng judiciary
- – ang high-level at malawakang korupsiyon sa gobyernto at
- – ang serious government restrictions o harassment ng domestic human rights organizations.
Base pa sa report ng US State department, ilan daw sa mga charges na may kaugnayan sa naturang mga pang-aabuso ay may kaugnayan sa political reason.
Ikinokonsidera naman ng Palasyo ang report na “utterly devoid of bases.”
“If at all, the reports are nothing but a rehash of old and recycled issues by the perennial detractors of the Duterte administration,” dagdag ni Andanar.
Muli namang binigyang diin ni Andanar na ang lahat daw ng alegasyon ng paglabag ng mga otoridad sa isinasagawang anti-illegal drugs campaign ay natugunan at tinutugunan na ng pamahalaan.
“We strongly suggest that the United States State Department validate reports that reach their office, triangulate the same with all other open and institutional sources, and put to work its political officers in the US embassy in the Philippines who can then properly verify the same with the Philippine government,” ayon pa kay Andanar.
Una rito, kinuwestiyon ni Defense Secretary Delfin Lorenzana ang report ng US State Department dahil umano sa kawalan ng data at ang mga akusasyon ay pawang mga innuendo at witch-hunt lamang.
Hinala rin ni Lorenzana, posibleng biktima raw ang US State Department ng black propaganda.
