Ipinagpaliban ng Inter-Agency Task Force on Emerging Infectious Disease ang naka-schedule sanang repatriation bukas ng mga Pilipinong sakay ng M/V Diamond Princess cruise ship na nasa Japan.
Ayon sa Department of Health, napagkasunduan ng task force na iurong ang pagsundo sa higit 400 Pinoy crew members at pasahero para bigyang daan ang Japanese health authorities na tapusin ang laboratory testing kung mayroong may sintomas o nag-positibo sa novel coronavirus (COVID-19).
“The Inter-Agency Task Force on Emerging Infectious Disease has unanimously resolved to tentatively schedule the repatriation of Overseas Filipinos aboard the M/V Diamond Princess cruise ship early next week.”
“This is to allow the Japanese health authorities to complete the laboratory testing of the 400-plus Filipino crew members aboard the ship and comply with the established Japanese quarantine protocols,” ayon sa DOH statement.

Wala pang tiyak na schedule o araw kung kailan ang repatriation pero batay sa advisory ng task force, sa susunod na linggo posibleng gawin ang paglilikas sa mga Pilipinong tripolante.
“IATG-EID is adjusting the schedule out of an abundance of caution with a view to safeguarding the health and safety of our OFs onboard the Diamond Princess cruise ship.”
“The Japanese government has ensured that appropriate health services are being provided to affected OFs aboard the ship. Our Tokyo Embassy is working closely with the Japanese health and foreign ministry to complete the quarantine protocols for the Philippine government to repatriate our Filipino crew members as soon as possible.”
Una ng sinabi ng DOH na sasailalim sa metikulosong proseso ang repatriation ng mga Pinoy tulad ng ginawa sa mga ni-repatriate mula Wuhan City, China.
