Bumili ng P14-milyong halaga ng locally-developed COVID-19 test kits ang Office of the Vice President (OVP) bilang tugon sa hakbang ng gobyerno para sa testing ng sakit.

Nakipagpulong nitong araw si Vice Pres. Leni Robredo kay Dr. Raul Destura nang bisitahin niya ang tanggapan ng manufacturer na Manila HealthTek, Inc.

Si Dr. Destura ang nanguna sa team ng experts mula sa University of the Philippines – National Institutes of Health at Philippine Genome Center na nag-develop ng test kits.

Nakatakdang ibahagi ng OVP ang biniling test kits sa certified laboratories ng: San Lazaro Hospital, Lung Center of the Philippines, V. Luna Hospital, at Bicol Regional Diagnostic and Reference Laboratory.

Kasama sa biniling kits at detection at extraction kits na kayang magsagawa ng 10,000 tests.

“Prior to this, Robredo’s office had already delivered P5.3 million-worth of extraction kits to the Research Institute for Tropical Medicine (RITM),” ayon sa OVP.
