Tinuligsa ni ACT Teachers Partylist Rep. Antonio Tinio ang mababang utilization ng Office of the President (OP) sa kanilang regular funds subalit 100 percent sa confidential and intelligence funds.
Sa budget debate ng Office of the President (OP) sa plenaryo ng Kamara kaninang umaga, tinanong ni Tinio bakit mababa ang paggasta sa regular funds subalit 100 percent sa CIF.
Ang Office of the President (OP) ay mayruong mahigit P4 billion ang confidential andd intelligence funds.
Ayon kay Tinio nasa 78 percent ang utilization sa regular funds ng OP na dapat sana ay umabot lang man sana sa 90 percent.
Pagtiyak ng Office of the President na ang CIF funds ay ginagamit para sa presidential security, cyber security, National Anti-Cybercrime Coordinating Council (NACC), transnational crime, anti-terrorism efforts, national maritime at Presidential Anti-Organized Crime.
Inihayag ni Appropriations Panel Senior Vice Chairman at Bataan Rep. Albert Garcia, na ang CIF ng Office of the President ay dumaan sa regular na auditing at reporting procedures.
Binatikos din ni Tinio na bagamat pinalobo ng Duterte administration ang CIF, tinaasan din ito ng Marcos Jr administration.
Depensa naman ni Garcia, hindi kailanman humiling ng dagdag na confidential fund ang Office of President kundi ito ay ibinigay at inaprubahan ng Senado.
Inihayag din ni Tinio na cash na nakukuha ng OP ang CIF, at quarterly ang disbursement ng pondo.
Sa isang quarter nasa P1.162 billion na cash ang nakukuha ng Office of the President.
