Kinumpirma ni Presidential spokesperson Harry Roque na may anim na regionl officers ng Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) ang naghain ng leave of absence.

Ayon kay Roque, ang mga opisyal na naghain ng pansamantalang leave ay hindi ang mga kawani ng state-health insurance na dawit sa issue ng korupsyon.

“These six officials, however, are not the “mafia” referred to by Senator Panfilo Lacson. They were, in fact, referred to as “heroes” by PhilHealth board member Alejandro Cabading during his Senate testimonies.”

Ang hakbang daw na ito ng regional officers ay tugon sa panawagan ni Justice Sec. Menardo Guevarra.

“For those whose names are mentioned in the investigation to go on leave. We consider this as the right and proper thing to do.”

Binigyang diin ng Malacanang ang apela ng Justice secretary sa iba pang Philhealth Executive Committee members na sumunod na rin sa paghahain ng leave habang lumalakad ang imbestigasyon.

“The Palace reiterates the call of the DOJ Secretary, who heads the PhilHealth Task Force, for those officers under investigation, particularly the members of the Executive Committee (ExeCom) who have been named in the investigations of both Senate and House, to follow their action and go on leave.”
