Kinumpirma ni Presidential Spokesman Harry Roque na hinahanapan na ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte ng mapagkukunan ng pondo para sa ikalawang tranche ng Social Amelioration Program (SAP) para sa mga mahihirap at low-income families.
Sinabi ni Presidential Spokesman Harry Roque, kabilang sa hihingan ng asssistance ni Pangulong Duterte ang Kongreso para sa karagdagang funding.
Ayon kay Sec. Roque, inatasan na rin ni Pangulong Duterte ang Department of Budget and Management (DBM) para idetermina kung magkano mula sa 2020 National Budget ang maaaring ma-realign para sa ikalang bagsak ng SAP alinsunod sa Republic Act No. 11469 o Bayanihan We Heal As One Act.
Inihayag ni Sec. Roque na nangangako si Pangulong Duterte na walang Pilipinong magugutom sa gitna ng COVID-19 pandemic.
Magugunitang una ng inihayag ng gobyerno na mga SAP beneficiaries na lamang sa mga lugar na nasa ilalim ng modified enhanced community quarantine (MECQ) at hindi na makakatanggap ang mga lugar na inilagay na sa general community quarantine dahil nasasaid na ang inilaang pondo para rito.
“The Palace notes that the President has instructed Department of Budget and Management (DBM) Secretary Wendel Avisado to determine how much funds from the 2020 National Budget will be realigned to augment the Administration’s social amelioration measures, pursuant to Republic Act No. 11469,” ani Sec. Roque.
“We likewise confirm that PRRD will ask the assistance of Congress in the finding of additional funding for the second tranche of the Social Amelioration Program to complete the rollout of aid to poor and low-income families.”
