MANILA – Ikinagalak ng Office of the Vice President (OVP) ang paglalabas ng Supreme Court ng kopya ng desisyon sa ibinasurang electoral protest ni dating Sen. Bongbong Marcos laban kay VP Leni Robredo.

Sa isang statement sinabi ni OVP spokesperson Barry Gutierrez, na patunay ang kopya ng desisyon na si Robredo ang tunay na nanalo bilang pangalawang pangulo sa halalan noong 2016.
“The unequivocal declaration in the decision that the protest “failed to substantiate” its “sweeping allegations” of supposed fraud, validates what has been our long-standing position: that the protest was baseless and unfounded from the beginning,” ani Gutierrez.
Nitong Lunes nang ilabas ng Korte Suprema, na umuupo bilang Presidential Electoral Tribunal (PET), ang buong kopya ng hatol nito sa protesta ni Marcos.
Nakasaad sa 91-pahinang desisyon, na pinirmahan ni Associate Justice Marvic Leonen, na bigo si Marcos na patunayan ang kanyang akusasyon na nandaya si Robredo sa eleksyon.
“Allegations appeared bare, laden with generic and repetitious allegations and lacked critical information,” nakasaad sa kopya ng desisyon.
“If, indeed, protestant was convinced of his claims in Lanao del Sur, Maguindanao, and Basilan, then he should have indicated those three as his pilot provinces. But he did not, to no fault of this Tribunal.”
Para sa kampo ni Robredo, sapat na batayan na ang kopya ng PET decision para patunayang walang dayaan na nangyari sa nasabing halalan, at kung sino ang tunay na nanalong bise presidente.
“This clearly settles this matter once and for all. Once again, we thank the PET for its wisdom, fairness, and resolve in deciding the issue.”
