CEBU CITY – Nagbalik-tanaw ang ilang mga kasamahan ng yumaong si Cebu City North District Rep. Raul Del Mar sa mga naging kontribusyon nito sa loob ng tatlong dekada.

Inilarawan ni Cebu City South District Rep. Rodrigo “Bebot” Abellanosa si Del Mar bilang isang mabuting kabigan.

Pinasalamatan nito si Del Mar dahil sa mga naipasa nitong batas na nakakatulong sa pag-unlad ng bayan.

Sa panig ni Cebu Governor Gwendolyn Garcia, para sa kanyang malaking kawalan ang bigla nitong pagpanaw.

Ayon kay Garcia, naging inspirasyon niya si Del Mar sa panahong nasa Kongreso pa ito bilang kinatawan ng Cebu 3rd district dahil sa natatanging dedikasyon nito.

Sinaluduhan naman ni Communications Secretary Martin Andanar si Del Mar dahil sa mga naging kontribusyon din sa pamamahayag at kinilalang “Champion of Media.”

Pumanaw ang kongresista nitong nakalipas na Lunes ng gabi, Nobyembre 18, sa isang pagamutan sa Metro Manila sa edad na 79.

Nagsilbi si Del Mar sa House of Representatives sa loob ng siyam na termino mula noong 1987.

Sa statement ng Kamara, umaabot sa 74 ang ini-author nito na naging batas: “two in the 18th Congress, eight in the 17th Congress and 64 in the previous Congresses.
