Inanunsiyo ng Department of Education na lahat ng mga public teachers ay makakatanggap ng P1,000 additional benefit matapos inaprubahan ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte ang pondo para sa World Teachers’ Day Incentive Benefit (WTDIB).
Sa pahayag na inilabas ng kagawaran, inaprubahan ni Duterte ang P910 million na pondo upang mabigyan ang mga public teachers ng P1,000 extra benefit.
Layunin nito ay upang kilalanin ang mahalagang papel ng ating mga tagapagturo sa pagtugon sa mga hamon ng pandemya, lalo na sa pagtiyak sa pagpapatuloy ng pag-aaral.
Kaugnay niyan, maglalabas ang DepEd ng mga alituntunin sa paglabas ng insentibo.
“Introduced during the administration of Secretary Leonor Magtolis Briones, the grant of WTDIB recognizes the vital role of our educators in addressing the challenges of the pandemic, especially in ensuring the continuity of learning,” bahagi pa ng statement ng DepEd. “With the ongoing preparations for School Year 2021-2022, we are grateful to our 900,000-strong teachers who have displayed their unwavering passion to serve and educate the Filipino youth. We shall issue the corresponding guidelines on the grant of the said incentive soon”.
