Pinabulaanan ni Gov. Danilo Suarez ang kumakalat ng isyu tingkol sa kinukuwestiyong Covid response funds sa probinsya ng Quezon.
Ayon kay Suarez, ang Commission on Audit (COA) report ay base sa year-end 2019 pa, gayung taong 2020 nang tumama ang Covid sa Quezon province
“To be clear and factual, the cited report is based on a COA report for year-end 2019. Covid is a 2020 phenomenon for Quezon and the Philippines. In 2019, no Covid response funds were released by the province as there were no recorded cases at that time,” aniya ni Suarez.
Ayon kay Suarez, ang P102,131,89.29 milyon ay tumutukoy sa mga nagpapatuloy na proyekto sa mga local government unit at sa lalawigan, na pinondohan ng iba’t ibang ahensya ng pambansang pamahalaan, na naghihintay ng matapos.
Itong usapin ay dahil ang mga nagpapatuloy na proyekto ay kailangang maghintay na matapos bago ang huling liquidation.
“Mention has also been made regarding the slow vaccine rate in the province. Much as we’d like to hire more vaccinators, because of the budget that the Sangguian Panlalawigan re-enacated despite the dire needs of the times, we are limited and cannot hire new employees,” pahayag ni Suarez.
