President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. ordered all government agencies to provide immediate and sustained assistance to residents affected by Super Typhoon Uwan and Typhoon Tino.
He led a situation briefing at Malacañang, directing the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) and Department of Health (DOH) to ensure continuous support and medical aid for evacuees.
The DPWH was instructed to begin road rehabilitation promptly to aid relief efforts, while agencies were reminded to address the impacts of both typhoons simultaneously.
The Office of Civil Defense reported that preemptive evacuations of 426,000 families helped minimize casualties, though two deaths have been confirmed and two more are under validation.
Pangasinan suffered the worst flooding, with 71 roads impassable and 155 power outages mostly in Region I.
The Bicol region had the highest number of evacuees, with over 100,000 families affected, while Quezon province reported around 20,000.
As floodwaters recede, evacuees are expected to return home, and the government continues to monitor and respond to the evolving situation.
