Lahat ng anggulo ngayon ang sinisilip ng mga otoridad sa pagkamatay ng National Bureau of Investigation (NBI)-Counter-Terrorism Division Chief Raoul na si Manguerra na nabaril sa kanyang opisina noong Lunes ng gabi.
Ayin kay Department of Justice (DoJ) Sec. Menardo Guevarra, tinitignan ngayon ng mga otoridad na anggulo ang pagiging head ng Manguerra ng (NBI)-Counter-Terrorism Division Chief.
Sinabi ni Guevarra na isa si Manguerra sa mga rason ng sunod-sunod na pagkaaresto ng maraming Abu Sayyaf member sa bansa maging dito sa Metro Manila kayat malaki umano itong kawalan sa NBI.
Kinumpirma rin ni Guevarra na may malubhang karamdaman si Manguerra at mag-isa lamang daw sa loob ng kanyang opisina nang mangyari ang insidente.
Sa kabila nito, sinabi ng kalihim na hinihintay niya pa rin ang resulta ng imbestigasyon ng NBI
“I’d rather that the NBI make the public statement after they have exhaustively examined all possible angles. baka tonight may linaw na yan. but one thing sure, the DOJ and the NBI have suffered another major loss. chief manguera was the head of the anti-terrorist division of the NBI that was responsible for the arrest of scores of Abu Sayyaf Fighters throughout the country, including in Metro Manila. I was informed, though, that at the time of his death, chief Manguerra was suffering from a serious ailment,” wika ni Guevarra.
Una rito, base sa inisyal na imbestigasyon ng Manila Police District (MPD) dinala pa ang opisyal ng NBI sa Manila Doctors Hospital ng kanyang driver at NBI personnel pero idineklara itong dead on arrival dakong alas-12:02 ng madaling araw kahapon.
Kasunod nito sinabi ni NBI Spokesperson Ferdinand Lavin na ipinag-utos na ni NBI Director Eric Distor ang malalimang imbestigasyon sa insidente at agad ni-lockdown ang area.
“The NBI is in a deep state of mourning. We condole with the family, relatives and friends of Chief Manguerra,” ani Lavin.
