Negatibo na sa COVID-19 si Armed Forces of the Philippine (AFP) chief General Felimon Santos Jr.
Kinumpirma ito AFP spokesperson Brigadier General Edgard Arevalo sa isang statement.
“We are pleased to announce that the AFP Chief of Staff General Felimon Santos Jr. has been tested negative for COVID-19, following the test conducted by the Department of Health and the Research Institute for Tropical Medicine,” ani Arevalo.
Nauna nang sinabi ni Defense Sec. Delfin Lorenzana na nagpositibo sa COVID-19 si Santos.
Subalit ayon kay Arevalo ay naka-recover na at wala na ring sintomas si Santos magmula nang sumailalim ito sa COVID-19 test sa RITM.
“We wish to thank everyone for the continuing prayers and support accorded to the AFP chief and to every soldier, airman, sailor, and marine who tirelessly protect fellow Filipinos and the communities against COVID-19 and other threats to national well-being,” dagdag pa ni Arevalo.
Samantala, nananawagan naman si Arevalo sa publiko na patuloy na makipagtulungan sa pamahalaan sa pamamagitan nang hindi paglabas ng bahay, paggamit ng face masks at pagsunod sa physical distancing.
Iginiit nito na ang laban sa COVID-19 ay laban ng lahat.
