All-set na ang Philippine National Police (PNP) sa pagbibigay seguridad sa nalalapit na 30th Southeast Asian Games (SEA Games) na magsisimula sa November 30 hanggang December 11, 2019.
Ayon kay PNP OIC chief Lt Gen. Archie Gamboa, ilan sa mga atleta ay nandito na sa Pilipinas at nakalatag na ang seguridad para sa mga ito.
Nasa mahigit 27,000 police personnel ang ipapakalat sa iba’t ibang sporting events, billeting areas at mga convoy.
Siniguro naman ni Gamboa na lahat ng mga delegado ay mabibigyan ng sapat at kaukulang security coverage.
Nakadepende naman sa mga regional police directors kung kanilang itataas ang level ng alert status.
Tatlong rehiyon ang sentro ng mga venues sa SEA Games ito ay ang NCR, Region 3, 4A at Region 1.
Sa 27,000 pulis nasa 18,000 aniya ay magmumula sa NCRPO, habang ang iba ay manggagaling sa PRO3 Central Luzon, REGION 4A at Region 1.
Ito ay bukod pa sa mga force multipliers at mga sundalo mula sa JTF NCR.
Magkakaroon ng Quick Reaction Team at magpapakalat ng mga K9 dogs kasama sa Explosive Ordnance Division team.
Ang Police Security and Protection Group ang tututuk sa seguridad ng mga VIPs at delegado.
Habang ang PNP Highway Patrol Group ang nakatuon sa pagbibigay seguridad sa mga convoy at route security.
Ang Presidential Security Group (PSG) naman ang tututok sa seguridad ng mga heads of state na dadalo sa opening ceremony ng SEA Games.
“Yung SEA Games we have different simulation exercises. Tinitingnan ko pa kung saan ako maka-join but there are different launching and sendoff of troops in 4 different regions. NCR, 3, 4A and 1 but we are prepared for the SEA Games. As a matter of fact some of the athletes are already here in the philippines and we are prepared for their security and peace and order situation for the SEA Games,” pahayag pa ni Lt. Gen. Gamboa.
