The very hungry for recognition Oklahoma Thunders simply did what must be done to overpower the Luka Doncic lead Dallas Mavericks for Game 1 of the Western Conference semi-finals.

Shai Gilgeous Alexander, s strong contender for the MVP (as is also Luka Doncik) had 29 points, 9 rebounds and 9 assists for an all-around game which is just usual for the Canadian NBA star. 11 of his points came from the free throw line to which he was sent a lot of times (13 free throw attempts).

On the other hand, Luka Doncic made only 6 of his 19 attempts in a very frustrating game where much was expected of him and still committing five turnovers.

Dallas’ other superstar Kyrie Irving, shot a respectable 20 points but was not a strong factor in the game. With the Dallas offense sputtering, the least Irving would be doing is to take over the game of which he is capable of. His percentages show what more he can do as he shot 7 of 14 from the field and three 3 pointers from his four attempts.

In the end, despite being outrebounded by Dallas, the Thunders pointed a record 29 assists to show that indeed BASKETBALL WILL ALWAYS BE A TEAM EFFORT!

The Denver Nuggets’ NIKOLA JOKIC (The Joker) gets his third MVP in four seasons stamping his class over strong contenders. Runners-up are Oklahoma Thunder’s SHAI GILGEOUS ALEXANDER and the Dallas Maverick’s LUKA DONCIC who finished second and third respectively in the voting.

Jokic’s third MVP was close to unanimous as he gathered 79 first place votes and a total of 926 points. Shai Gilgeous Alexander (SGA) on the other hand, got only 15 first place votes and a total 640 point while Luka got only four first place votes and a total of 566 points. The Bucks Giannis Antekokoummpo was fourth while Jalen Brunson of New York Knicks came in fifth.
