Nag-donate ng P7-million halaga ng locally-developed COVID-19 test at extraction kits ang Office of the Vice President sa lalawigan ng Iloilo.
Ayon kay Vice President Leni Robredo, kayang makapagsagawa ng tinatayang 3,900 coronavirus tests ang Iloilo City at 1,600 tests ang natitirang bahagi ng lalawigan dahil sa ipinaabot nilang donasyon.
“There was a spike of cases in Iloilo City two weeks ago. We asked them what they needed the most at this point and they identified the test kits,” ani Robredo sa isang video message.
Umaasa ang pangalawang pangulo na makakatulong sa responde ng probinsya sa COVID-19 ang mga natanggap na test kits.
Mismong sina Iloilo City Mayor Jerry Treñas at Iloilo Gov. Arthur Defensor Jr. daw ang tumanggap ng donasyon ng OVP.
“I have no doubt that Iloilo will rise out of this stronger and better because the local officials are the kind of public servants every one of us has been hoping for,” ayon sa bise presidente.
Batay sa huling datos ng Department of Health (DOH), pang-apat ang Iloilo City sa nakapagtala ng mataas na bilang ng mga bagong kaso ng sakit sa bansa, na aabot sa 75.
Sa COVID-19 tracker ng DOH, aabot na sa 3,550 ang total ng coronavirus case sa Iloilo City. Mula sa kanila, 2,614 na ang gumaling at 75 ang namatay.
