May pananagutan pa rin ang mga lokal na opisyal na sumingit sa vaccination priority list, kahit walang malinaw na probisyon sa COVID-19 Vaccination Program Act of 2021 ukol dito.
Ayon kay Justice Sec. Menardo Guevarra, hindi nakatala ang klase ng paglabag at penalty dito kung lumalaktaw sa listahan ng mga babakunahan.
Ito ay sa gitna ng pagbakuna sa ilang politiko at celebrity na hindi naman health care worker.
Aniya, mayroon lamang karampatang parusa ang pamemeke ng mga vaccine card na nasa ilalim ng Revised Penal Code.
Gayunpaman, sinabi ni Guevarra na posibleng may pananagutan sa parte ng mga opisyal ng gobyerno dahil sa code of ethical conduct, partikular na ang misconduct, abuse of authority at conduct prejudicial to the interest of the service.
“For government officials, though, the Code of Ethical Conduct provides penalties for certain acts or omissions, such as for misconduct, abuse of authority, or conduct prejudicial to the interest of the service,” pahayag ni Guevarra.
