Locally-developed COVID-19 test kits ‘ready for commercial use’ na muli: DOH

Maaari na muling magamit ang locally-developed test kits para sa COVID-19 ayon sa Department of Health (DOH) at DOST-Philippine Council for Health Research and Development (PCHRD).

Sa isang statement sinabi ng mga tanggapan na handa na para sa commercial use o malawakang paggamit ng publiko ang ikalawang version ng GenAmplify™ Corona Virus 2019 (COVID-19) rRT PCR Detection Kit.

“After several months of collaboration, we are proud to say, GenAmplify version 2, the country’s very own RT-PCR test kit, is finally ready for commercial use.”

Kung maaalala, ipina-recall ng DOH noong Mayo ang unang bersyon ng local test kits na inilabas ng manufacturer matapos mabatid na kontaminado ang reagents o chemical substance na hinahaluan ng samples mula sa taong tinest.

Nagkakahalaga ng P1,320 ang test kits ng gawang Pinoy, na mas mura sa higit P8,000 na presyo ng unang mga test kits na ginagamit ng bansa.

Nangako naman ang Health department at DOST na tulad nang sa ibang medical products, patuloy nilang imo-monitor ang performance ng test kits.
