Justice Secretary Jesus Crispin Remulla returns to work as the head of the Department of Justice after undergoing a bypass procedure due to a blocked artery in his heart.
According to the secretary, his procedure took place one day after he filed for a wellness leave.
To recall, Remulla submitted a wellness leave on June 26 of the current year, and today marks the seventh day of his leave.
He stated that he still needs to undergo a Physical Rehabilitation Session or Physical Therapy following his surgery.
Although the secretary is back to work, he will not be returning to his office for the next three weeks or a month to have proper rest.
Remulla assured that he will continue to communicate with his Undersecretaries via video conference for important updates from the Department.
He also mentioned that President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. advised him to prioritize his recovery and healing to be able to serve effectively as the head of the Justice Department.
The executive head was pleased with Remulla’s decision to undergo the bypass procedure.
Meanwhile, the Secretary denied the circulating information that he will resign after his operation.
He assured that his commitment as the head of the Department of Justice will continue.
