Nilinaw ng Department of Health (DOH) na hindi bumalik sa paglobo ang bilang ng mga kaso ng COVID-19 sa Metro Manila at Region 4A.
Pahayag ito ng ahensya matapos sabihin ng mga researchers ng UP OCTA na tumataas muli ang occupancy rate ng mga ospital sa ilang lungsod sa National Capital Region at Calabarzon.
“Despite there being days where the utilization in certain cities in Metro Manila are relatively high, this does not mean that cases are once again increasing.”
“In Metro Manila, new reported cases and active cases have steadily decreased over the past month. This has led to a decrease of new severe and critical cases.”
Ayon sa DOH, iba’t-ibang dahilan ang posibleng nag-udyok sa mataas na porsyento ng occupancy sa kama ng mga ospital sa dalawang rehiyon. Kabilang na raw dito ang tumatagal na admission ng ilang pasyente, at limitadong alokasyon ng sa mga infirmary.
“This was done following the passage of the ‘Bayanihan To Recover As One’ law, which requires all hospitals to dedicate 30% of beds to COVID — which infirmaries do not meet
and due to the fact that infirmaries are technically not hospitals according to hospital licensing standards.”
“Since their capacity is less than an L1 hospital, it is suggested to classify them as TTMFs (temporary treatment and monitoring facilities) for reimbursement, provided that they pass the standards.”
May kanya-kanya rin daw hamon na hinaharap ang kada lokalidad. Tulad sa Makati City na mayroon lang tatlong lisensyadong ospital kaya mabilis umakyat ang kanilang hospital capacity sa 70%.
Pareho rin ang sitwasyon ng Lucena City, Quezon na nasa 86% dahil lima lang ang ospital sa lungsod. Sa Batangas City naman, nasa 7% lang daw ang bed allocation sa kanilang mga ospital kaya 83% na agad ang kanilang occupancy rate.
“The biggest hospital in the city, which is the Batangas City Medical Center has 35 occupied beds out of 40 dedicated beds which already corresponds to an 87% bed utilization.”
“This, plus the recent observation that the number of newly reported cases increased in the past two weeks. We are now investigating the reason behind the increase in that area.”
Samantala, mababa naman daw kung maituturing ang 16% occupancy sa Mandaluyong City, at 64% ng Muntinlupa City.
As of October 24, 41% ng 21,399 COVID-19 bed sa buong bansa ang okupado ng mga pasyente ng coronavirus.
