The Commission on Elections (Comelec) will begin “Operation Baklas” in the next few days to remove illegal campaign materials posted by candidates for the October 30 BSKE.
Comelec Chairman George Garcia said they will start removing the illegal campaign materials once all the certificates of candidacy (CoC) filed have been processed.
He said, they will not allow any paraphernalia even without “Vote For” written on it.
The Comelec will also remove posters of candidates in public or private places.
He added that social media posts promoting the candidate before the official campaign period begins are also violations of election rules.
In this regard, the campaign period for BSKE will start from October 19 to 28 and the election itself is scheduled for October 30 of the current year.
