Nasa P10 million na halaga ng learning equipment ang ibinigay ng United States at ng kanilang partner dito sa Pilipinas.
Ayon sa US Embassy sa Manila, layon nitong suportahan ang early grade reading sa bansa.
Nasa 100 “school-in-a-bag” kits daw ang ibinigay na sa mga napiling paaralan sa Bicol, Western Visayas, Maguindanao, Cotabato Special Geographic Area, Cotabato City at ang mga paaralang associated sa US Agency for International Development’s (USAID) para sa remote learning study.
Bawat kit ay naglalaman ng laptop computer, 10 tablet na mayroong isang terabyte ng memory sa bawat isa.
Kasama na rin dito ang pocket Wi-Fi na mayroon nang lamang load na P500 na para sa internet access.
Lalagyan din umano ang mga tablets ng e-resources gaya ng DepEd TV episodes, interactive literacy primers sa mother tongue languages, USAID-supported e-books, at iba pang digital resources na magiging tulay sa digital divide at mapaganda ang early grade reading.
Sinabi ni USAID Philippines Acting Deputy Mission Director Brandon Miller na sa pamamagitan ng naturang mga gadgets ay magiging advance na ang mga mag-aaral sa digital literacy sa gitna ng Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic lalo na sa mga malalayong lugar na walang access sa teknolohiya.
Tiniyak naman ni Miller na tuloy-tuloy ang kanilang pakikipag-partner sa mga private sector, local government units (LGUs) at local communities para ang bawat bta ay magkaroon ng access sa quality education.
The tablets will be loaded with e-resources such as DepEd TV episodes, interactive literacy primers in mother tongue languages, USAID-supported e-books, and other digital resources that can bridge the digital divide and improve early grade reading, especially for students in the most remote areas of the country.
