Nagbabala ngayon ang Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) sa mga lugar na dadaanan ng tropical depression Karding.
Ayon sa Pagasa magdudulot ng malalakas na buhos ng ulan ang bagong sama ng panahon sa bahagi ng northern at Central Luzon simula sa Sabado, na naging bagyo na mula kaninang alas-8:00 ng umaga.
Maari pa umanong magdulot ng mga flash floods at landslide ang bagong bagyo doon sa mga lugar na saturated na dahil sa mga pag-ulan.
Sa ngayon posibleng magtaas na rin ng tropical cyclone wind signal No. 1 ang Pagasa sa mga lugar na dadaanan ng tropical depression lalo na sa Northern Luzon at iba pang bahagi ng Central Luzon.
Gayundin ayon sa Pagasa maari ring ilagay sa signal number one ang mga areas sa Northern Luzon simula sa Biyernes ng gabi o umaga ng Sabado.
Samantala mabagal lamang ang pag-usad ng tropical depression Karding na may direksiyon na eastward o kaya east northeastward sa loob ng 12-oras bago magbago ang direksiyon nito ng pa-westward bukas.
Tinataya ng Pagasa na posible namang mag-landfall ang bagyo sa bisinidad ng east coast ng Isabela o kaya sa lalwigan ng Cagayan sa araw ng Linggo.
“Karding may bring moderate to rough seas (1.2 to 3.1 m) over the seaboards of Northern and the eastern seaboard of Central Luzon beginning Sunday. Such condition may be risky for those using small seacrafts. Mariners are advised to take precautionary measures when venturing out to sea and continue monitoring for updates,” bahagi pa ng statement ng Pagasa. “Considering these developments, the public and disaster risk reduction and management offices concerned are advised to take all necessary measures to protect life and property. Persons living in areas identified to be highly or very highly susceptible to these hazards are advised to follow evacuation and other instructions from local officials. For heavy rainfall warnings, thunderstorm/rainfall advisories, and other severe weather information specific to your area, please monitor products issued by your local PAGASA Regional Services Division.The next tropical cyclone bulletin will be issued at 5:00 PM today.”
