Mariing pinabulaanan ng Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) ang sinasabi ng Kabus Padatoon (KAPA) Community Ministry International na nakakuha na sila ng approval para ipagpatuloy ang kanilang crowdfunding activities sa Pilipinas.

Sa isang statement, sinabi ng SEC na hindi nakarehistro sa kanila ang KAPA na nauna na nilang tinawag na isang investment scam.

“To set the record straight, KAPA is not registered with the Commission under SEC Memorandum Circular No. 14, Series of 2019 or the Rules and Regulations Governing Crowd Funding either as a crowdfunding intermediary or funding portal, nor has it a pending application before the Commission under said Rules,” bahagi ng statement ng SEC.

“Furthermore, KAPA through its counsel on record has disclaimed authorizing the publication of a myriad of posts on social media claiming that only authorized officers of KAPA, namely: Rene Catubigan and Ronnie Garay may speak on behalf of the entity,” dagdag pa nito.

Dagdag ng SEC na ilang videos ang naka-post online na nagpapakita na sinasabi nina Pacam Radio anchors Roger Abing Camingawan at Daniel Flash Villas, at iba pa, na ang KAPA Community Ministry International ay rehistrado na bilang isng crowd funding entity.

Una nang naglabas na ng freeze order ang Court of Appeals sa bank accounts ng KAPA at iba pa nitong mga assets noong Hunyo dahil sa nagso-solicit ito ng pera sa publiko kahit walang permits.
