Nagbigay na ng go-signal ang Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte kaugnay sa muling pagbabalik-biyahe ng mga provincial buses.
Sinabi ni Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque ang pagpayag ng Pangulo at ng gabinete sa pagbabalik ng provincial bues ay para lamang doon sa
point-to-point routes.
Layon pa rin nito ang unti-unting pagbubukas ng ekonomiya lalo na at matindi ang pagkalugi ng mga bus companies mula nang ipatupad ang lockdown bunsod ng pandemya.
Kahapon ay pinulong ng Pangulong Duterte ang kanyang gabinete at kabilang sa tinalakay ay ang pagbiyahe muli ng mga provincial buses doon sa mga ruta na aprubado ng Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) at sa mga destinasyon na pinapayagan ng mga local government units kasama na ang mga stop-over o transit terminals.
Samantala nilinaw naman ni Sec. Roque na nakatakdang maglabas ng guidelines ang Department of Transportation at LTFRB hinggil sa naturang usapin.
“Provincial buses in point-to-point routes approved by the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) and the local government unit of destination, including their stop-over/transit terminals may resume their operations. Point-to-point provincial buses shall be allowed unhampered passage through the different LGUs en route to the LGU of destination. For this purpose, the Department of Transportation,
through the LTFRB, is directed to craft the necessary operational guidelines,” bahagi pa rekomendasyon ng IATF Technical Working Group.
