Hindi na muna maglalabas ng datos ang PNP ng casualties sa Bagyong Odette.
Ito’y matapos ang malayong agwat ng datos ng mga namatay, nasugatan at nawawala ng PNP at NDRRMC.
Ayon kay PNP Spokesperson PCol. Roderick Augustus Alba ang dahilan na hindi na muna sila maglalabas ng datos ay para hindi na nagugulo ang datos ng Office of the Civil Defense.
Aniya, hahayaan na ng PNP sa NDRRMC-OCD ang maglabas ng datos.
Sinabi ni ALba na ang mga inilabas na datos ng PNP tungkol sa mga nasawi at sugatan at nawawala sa bagyong “Odette” ay base sa mga blotter entries ng iba’t ibang himpilan ng PNP sa mga apektadong lugar.
Gayunpaman sinabi ni Alba na magpapatuloy ang pangangalap nila ng mga report sa ground ngunit kanila na itong isusumite sa DILG.
Tiniyak naman ni Col. Alba na maingat ang lahat ng PNP units sa paguulat ng mga datos para masiguro na walang nadodoble o hindi naisasama sa bilangan.
Ayon naman kay DILG Secretary Eduardo Ano na subject for validation pa ang datos na inilabas ng PNP na kanila pang itinuturing na raw data.
” This pertains to Reports of Casualties released by the PNP as regard to reported incidents in our Police Stations during and after the onslaught of Typhoon Odette. The incidents are recorded in the Police Blotter of the PNP Unit and further documented and investigated.
The reported casualties are submitted to Office of Civil Defense and these are subject to validation by OCD, DILG and DSWD.
All PNP Units handling these data exercise due diligence and care to preclude possibilities of redundant or omitted entry that may compromise the accuracy of information,” pahayag ni Col. Alba.
