Hindi na papayagang makatapak muli ng Pilipinas ang convicted US Marine Lance Corporal na si Joseph Scott Pemberton.
Sa isang statament, sinabi ni Bureau of Immigration commissioner Jaime Morente na bunsod ito ng ipinatupad nilang deporation kay Pemberton, na kamakailan ay ginawaran ng absolute pardon ni Pangulong Duterte.
“Upon completion of the required documents, we immediately implemented the deportation. He was escorted by BI agents to ensure that he has boarded his aircraft,” ani Morente.
“Should he attempt to re-enter the country after being deported, he will be denied entry and will be excluded,” dagdag ng opisyal.
Ayon sa Immigration commissioner, itinuturing nang undesirable alien ang Amerikanong sundalo matapos ipa-blacklist ng ahensya noong 2015.
Nakasaad daw kasi sa isang resolusyon na hindi makakabuti para sa “safety, welfare, happiness, or good order of Philippine society” kung mananatili ang presensya ni Pemberton sa bansa.
“His criminal case is separate from his immigration case. The Bureau saw that he is a risk to public safety, having been found guilty of the crime.”
Kung maaalala, hinatulan sa kasong homicide si Pemberton noong 2015. Isang taon matapos ang pagpatay niya sa Pinoy transgender na si Jennifer Laude.
Nitong araw nang lumipad pabalik ng Amerika ang dayuhang sundalo, matapos ang halos anim na taong paninilbihan sa kanyang sintensya, na dapat sana ay higit 10-taon.
Napaaga dahil sa pardon na iginawad ni Duterte.
