Sinuspinde muna ng Philippine Council for Health Research and Development (PCHRD) ang pagtanggap sa mga proposal ng pananaliksik kaugnay ng COVID-19.
Sa isang advisory, sinabi ng PCHRD na naabot na nila ang maximum ng budget na naka-allocate para sa research.
“Due to the overwhelming number of COVID-19 research proposals received, we have reached our maximum budget allocation as of the moment, and have decided to suspend acceptance of research grant applications effective immediately until further notice.”
Nagpasalamat ang ahensya sa mga nagpaabot ng suporta at interes sa pananaliksik para maka-diskubre ng iba pang angkop na responde sa pandemic.
“Further, the PCHRD Project Management System specifically for Research Grants will continue to be closed until the next call for proposals.”
Ang PCHRD ay sangay sa ilalim ng Department of Science and Technology. Isa ang ahensya sa mga pinaka-abala mula nang pumutok ang COVID-19 sa bansa dahil sa kanilang papel sa vaccine development.
Nitong araw humarap sa pre-budget hearing ng Kamara ang ahensya kung saan inamin ni DOST Sec. Fortunato dela Pena na P24-billion lang ang inaprubahan ng Department of Budget and Management mula sa kanilang panukalang P36-billion.
