Hindi rin nakaubra sa China ang panawagan ng iba pang estado na galangin ang arbitral ruling sa South China Sea.
Nagmatigas si Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Geng Shuang at sinabing kaya ng mga nag-aagawang bansa na resolbahin ang issue.
Tiniyak din nito na mananatiling payapa ang rehiyon sa gitna ng territorial dispute.
“We, the regional countries, have the will, wisdom and capability to properly resolve the South China Sea issue and achieve long-term stability, development
“On the other hand, however, some non-regional countries made unwelcome remarks and deliberately highlighted tensions in disregard of the efforts by regional countries to safeguard peace and stability in the South China Sea. China opposes that,”
Nagsanib pwersa ang United Kingdom, France at Germany sa pagtawag ng pansin sa mga claimants sa South China Sea para kilalanin ang hatol ng The Hague.
Nangangamba ang European countries sa posibilidad na magdulot ng mas malalim na hidwaan ang patuloy na aktibidad ng mga bansa sa naturang teritoryo.
“As State parties of the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea, France, Germany, and the United Kingdom underline their interest in the universal application of the Convention which sets out the comprehensive legal framework within which all activities in the oceans and seas including in the South China Sea must be carried out and which provides the basis for national, regional and global co-operation in the maritime domain. They recall in this regard the Arbitration Award rendered under UNCLOS on 12 July 2016.”
Noong 2016 nang ibasura ng Permanent Court of Arbitration ang claims ng China hinggil sa “nine-dash line” sa South China Sea.
Kinilala naman nito ang sovereign rights ng Pilipinas sa nasabing bahagi ng karagatan.
