Ganap nang naging bagyo ang binabantayan ng PAGASA na low pressure area sa kanluran ng Sorsogon, matapos lumakas pa at maging Tropical Depression Tonyo.
Ayon sa state-weather bureau, tumama na sa kalupaan ng hilagang bahagi ng Ticao Island ang bagyo nitong alas-9:00 ng gabi nitong Sabado at inaasahang kikilos pa ng pa-kanluran sa susunod na 12 oras.
“Its center is likely to pass close or over the vicinity of Masbate, Romblon, and Mindoro Provinces. It is forecast to emerge over the West Philippine Sea tomorrow morning.”
Huling namataan ang sentro ng bagyo sa bahagi ng Monreal, Masbate. Kumikilos daw ito ng 25-kilometers per hour patungo sa direksyon ng kanluran.
Ang hangin naman nito ay nasa 45-kilometers per hour, habang ang pagbugso ay nasa 75-kilometers per hour.
“Tonight through tomorrow, Tonyo will bring moderate to heavy with at times intense rains over Bicol Region, CALABARZON, Marinduque, Romblon, Mindoro Provinces, Aurora, and the eastern sections of mainland Cagayan and Isabela,” ayon sa PAGASA.
“Light to moderate with at times heavy rains will also be experienced over Metro Manila and the rest of the country.”
Nagbabala ang ahensya sa inaasahang katamtaman hanggang malakas na buhos ng ulan sa Bicol, Calabarzon, Romblon, Mindoro Provinces, Aurora, at eastern sections of mainland Cagayan and Isabela.
Samantalang mahina hanggang katamtamang buhos ng ulan naman daw ang aasahan sa Metro Manila at iba pang bahagi ng bansa.
Nakataas na ang Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal No. 1 sa ilang lugar na tinamaan din ng dumaang Super Typhoon Rolly.
