“I am very pleased that we were able to meet our target to have the contract for the Philippine Navy Corvette Lot 1 Acquisition Project contract signed before this year ends. Despite delays due to the pandemic, we are finally signing the contract, the last phase of procurement process. This project will give the Philippine Navy two modern corvettes that are capable of anti-ship, anti-submarine and anti-air warfare missions,” pahayag ni Sec. Lorenzana
“Today, I signed the contract for the acquisition of two brand new corvettes for our Philippine Navy with anti-ship, anti-submarine and anti-warfare capabilities. Since the corvettes will be manufactured by the Hyundai Heavy Industries (HHI) which also built our Rizal-class frigates, we are assured of the commonality and interoperability of our existing naval platforms, as well as ease of maintenance and repairs,” wika pa ni Lorenzana.
