Sisimulan na rin ng Parañaque City ang mass testing para sa COVID-19 bukas, April 20.
Sa isang Facebook announcement sinabi ni Mayor Edwin Olivarez na nag-hire ang kanilang local government unit (LGU) ng dagdag na healthcare workers na tutulong sa existing frontliners ng lungsod.
Ayon sa alkalde, gagamit sila ng rapid testing kits na mula sa mga natanggap na donasyon ng LGU.
Magbubukas din daw ng dagdag na isolation facilities ang siyudad para sa mga magiging confirmed case.
“An initial three testing sites after the Food and Drug Administration approved the use of rapid testing kits that were donated to the City Government.”
“This is a very welcome development in our fight against Covid-19 because this will enable us to identify possible cases for early isolation and help curb the spread of this deadly disease.”
Bukod sa healthcare workers, nag-hire rin daw ang Parañaque LGU ng IT personnel.
“Before, the lack of test kits hampered us from performing enough tests. With the new FDA-approved rapid testing kits, additional personnel and isolation facilities, we hope to ramp up our capability to at least 200 tests per day.”
Sinabi raw ni Dr. Olga Virtusio, na siyang city health officer, makakatulong ang rapid test para sa agarang isolation ng mga posibleng positibo mula sa 200 suspect cases, bago sumailalim sa RT-PCR testing.
Kapag natapos na raw ang suspected cases ng lungsod ay isusunod nila ang matatanda, buntis at iba pang itinuturing na mula sa vulnerable population.
