Nagpahayag ng suporta ang ilang mambabatas para sa pagpapatuloy ng speakership ni Alan Peter Cayetano kahit pa nakatakda itong palitan ni Marinduque Rep. Lord Alan Velasco alinsunod na rinsa term-sharing agreement.
Sa manifesto, ilang House leaders na mula sa iba’t ibang political parties ang nagpakita ng kanilang buong suporta para kay Cayetano.
Ilan sa mga pumirma sa naturang manifesto ay sina House Majority Leader Martin Romualdez na presidente ng LAKAS-Christian Muslim Democrats; Minority Leader Binevenido Abante ng Natuional Unity Party (NUP); Rep. Elpidio Barzaga Jr., at Deputy Speaker Luis Raymund Villafuerte ng Nacionalista Party.
Nilagdaan ang mga ito nina Deputy Speakers Aurelio Gonzales Jr., at Johnny Pimentel na parehong mula sa PDP-Laban at kapartido ni Velasco.
Nakasaad din sa manifesto ang pagnanais ng mga ito na kaagad ipasa ang proposed national budget para sa 2021.
“In this trying times, as the nation is being wracked by an unprecedented public health and economic crisis brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic, we reiterate our continued full and unequivocal support for Speaker Cayetano and the entire leadership of the House, and join the President in his desire to allow the membership to chart its own course in choosing those who would lead this chamber,”
“The burden of leadership comes with certain privileges, among which is the honor to represent our fellow citizens in matters of public importance. But with this also comes the challenge of living up to the high standards of our countrymen. And in this, we the members of the Duterte administration Super Majority Coalition in the 18th Congress, now come together and pledge our commitment to the continued leadership of Speaker Cayetano as we strive to always put the best interest of the Filipino ahead at all times,” dagdag pa nito.
