Hindi nakalusot sa pagsusuri ng Commission on Audit (COA) ang regional branches ng Land Transportation Office (LTO) sa National Capital Region at Calabarzon matapos umanong gumastos ng halos P4-milyon para sa mga mamahaling cellphone at mahal na prepaid load.
Batay sa annual audit report ng COA, nabatid na nilabag ng naturang LTO regional branches ang Circular No. 2012-003 kung saan itinuturing na “unnecessary” at “excessive” ang pagbili sa naturang halaga ng mga gamit.
Bukod dito, may higit P640,000 din umanong halaga ng cellphone card allowances ang nagamit dahil hindi naman ito aprubado ng Civil Service Commission.
“The grant of cellular phones, tablets in LTO-NCR and postpaid mobile cellular phone units in LTO-Region IV-A—for the same purpose and objective considering serviceability status of existing units and corresponding issuance of more than one unit to an individual as well as to an individual holding the position lower than Division Chief rank—are deemed excessive and unnecessary pursuant to the provision of the above-stated COA Circular.”
