Nag-alok ng special economic briefing si Finance Sec. Carlos Dominguez III kay Sen. Imee Marcos kasunod diskusyon nila kamakailan tungkol sa tulong na ibibigay ng pamahalaan sa mga apektado ng COVID-19 pandemic.
Sa isang statement, sinabi ni Department of Finance na nagpadala ng liham ang kalihim sa senador nitong Martes.
“As Chair of the Economic Development Cluster (EDC) of the Duterte administration, I acknowledge the questions and concerns you raised regarding the Philippine economy during the Senate Committee of the Whole hearing on the government’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic last May 20, 2020,” ayon kay Dominguez sa nasabing sulat.
Kung maaalala, nagsagutan sila Dominguez at Marcos sa gitna ng Senate Committee hearing matapos imungkahi ng mambabatas ang programang “Masagana 99.”
Naging matagumpay daw kasi ito noong panahon ng kanyang amang si dating Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos.
Pero buwelta ni Dominguez, ang kanyang termino bilang Agriculture secretary ng Aquino administration ang nag-ahon sa problemang iniwan ng nasabing programa sa mga magsasaka.
Tulad ng bankruptcy nang tinatayang 800 rural banks.
“To clarify concerns you and the Senate Committee on Economic Affairs may have on the national economy, particularly on the national accounts, I would like to offer a special briefing to be conducted by a senior official from the EDC at your earliest convenience.”
