Umani ng papuri mula sa mga hurado ng American Idol (AI) ang Filipino-American singer na si Francisco Martin.
Ito’y bagama’t naiuwi lamang ni Martin ang Top 5 finish sa kanyang AI journey na ginanap ngayong araw (Manila time).
Sa dalawang oras na grand finale, nagpatalbugan ang mga finalist sa dalawang performance at ibinase ang resulta sa public voting.
Unang inawit ng half Filipino contender ang “Adore” ni Harry Styles, na parehong kanta noong siya ay nakapasok sa Top 5.
Pangalawa naman ay ang “Alaska” ni Maggie Rogers na kanyang audition piece.
Sa balcony ng kanilang bahay nag-perform ang pambato ng Pilipinas.

Katy Perry: “That performance was an elevated version of what you gave to us in the beginning. I mean you’re so smooth when you delivered that. It sounded like it was professionally recorded in a studio somewhere. That’s how good it was, Francisco. Congratulations.”
Luke Bryan: “Man, I’m so proud to see you here. I’m so heartbroken that this is the last time that we’ll see you, get to hear you perform like this on American Idol. And I just know that the sky is the limit for your career.”
Lionel Richie: “You know Francisco, my mother was an elementary school teacher and principal and she has always said to me what makes a great teacher is that you have great students. You had been a model student, my friend.”

Hindi na binanggit pa ang ranking pero ang American singer na si Just Sam kontra kay Arthur Gunn ang tinanghal bilang bagong American Idol.
Nabatid na isang kasaysayan ang American Idol season 18 dahil nag-perform lamang sa kania-kanilang bahay ang mga contestant.
