Minaliit ng isang international human rights organization ang pagsibak ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte kay Vice Pres. Leni Robredo bilang drug czar.
Ayon kay Human Rights Watch (HRW) Asia Researcher Carlos Conde, malinaw na mula umpisa ay hindi tapat ang presidente sa appointment nito kay Robredo.
“Was his offer of involving her in finding solutions to the situation of drugs in the Philippines ever really serious? He didn’t even give Robredo the chance to show what she could do to make the campaign against drugs effective and, most important, non-violent and rights-respecting,” ani Conde.
“By firing her on such ludicrous grounds, Duterte reveals he was never even remotely sincere, and exposes his game to appoint her as a total sham.”
Pinapakita rin umano ng pagsibak ni Duterte ang layunin nito na hindi paggiging sinsero sa pangako sa hamon.
Kung maaalala, pinalagan ni Duterte ang alok ni HRW Asia Deputy Director Phelim Kine na handang tumulong kay Robredo sa Inter-Agency Committee on Anti-Illegal Drugs (ICAD).
Binantaan pa nito na sasampalin ang human rights official.
