One of the most anticipated and unexpected debuts in the regular season is about to happen as Kevin Durant plays for the first time with the Phoenix Suns when they face the Charlotte Hornets on Thursday, Philippine time.
Durant, who requested a trade from the Brooklyn Nets and landed in the Suns, has been sidelined with an MCL sprain on his right knee since January 8.
Before the injury, Durant was on a tear averaging 29.7 points, 6.7 rebounds, and 5.3 assists per game.
His lethal offense and the superstar that he is officially formed another superteam in the West as he teamed up with Chris Paul and Devin Booker.
The Suns are fourth in the standings with a 33-29 win-loss record.
He will begin his debut on a three-game road trip following Charlotte in Chicago and Dallas, where he will face his former Nets duo Kyrie Irving.
He will then mark his Phoenix home debut on March 9 against the original team that drafted him, the Oklahoma City Thunder.
