Nakikipag-ugnayan na raw ang Department of Health (DOH) sa Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) kasunod ng pagkamatay sa COVID-19 ng isang nurse sa Cainta, Rizal, na huli nang natanggap ang kanyang hazard pay.

“To ensure that LGU hospitals adhere to our guidelines, which, from the beginning have placed primacy on caring for our healthcare workers by ensuring the provision of appropriate care, testing and timely payments.”

“This issue is not about monetary value. This issue is about how some government agencies lie and how we take for granted and exploit our frontliners in the face of this pandemic,” ani Joie Cruz, anak ng namatay na nurse.

“This issue is about how my mom was treated way way below than what she deserves in a local public hospital where she worked in for more than 10 years – the first 4 years of those were without any salary.”

“We are committed to bringing the welfare of our healthcare workers to the fore, which is why we lobbied for renewed benefit packages under the Bayanihan Act II. We will continue to proactively communicate the benefits of our health workers are entitled to.”

“Rest assured that the concern raised has paved the way for more discussions on how we can take care of our health workers better.”
