Ipinaalala ng Department of Health (DOH) na kailangan pa rin tapusin ang 14-day quarantine ng close contacts ng COVID-19 confirmed cases kahit sila ay negativer sa confirmatory na RT-PCR test.
“The purpose of the 14-day quarantine period is to ensure that a COVID-19 no longer contagious upon returning to the community,” ayon sa DOH.
Paliwanag ng Health department, maaari lang huminto sa 14-day quarantine ang negative close contact kung ang indibidwal ay hindi nakapag-develop ng sintomas mula nang matanggap niya ang resulta ng test.
Pati na kung wala siyang naging exposure sa suspect, probable o iba pang confirmed case habang hinihintay niya ang resulta swab test.
Sa ilalim ng DOH guidelines, tinuturing na close contact ang taong may exposure sa mga pinaghihinalaan, posible at kumpirmadong kaso ng COVID-19.
“Hence, completion of the 14-day period is necessary.”
Binigyang diin ng DOH ang pagtutol nito sa indiscriminate use o hindi wastong paggamit ng COVID-19 test. Dapat daw kumonsulta sa primary health care providers ang sino mang nais magpasailalim sa test.
“These tests can only be meaningful with the complete history, physical examination, and assessment that can only be performed by the attending physician.”
