MANILA – Nilinaw ng Department of Health (DOH) na walang basbas ng kagawaran ang inisyatibong “nurses for vaccines” ng Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE).
Pahayag ito ng ahensya matapos aminin ng Labor department na nakikipag-negosasyon sila sa United Kingdom at Germany para makakuha ng 600,000 doses ng COVID-19 vaccines.
“We were not consulted and we’re not even aware of this kind of exchange between our government and the other governments for this matter,” ani Health Usec. Maria Rosario Vergeire.
Una nang sinabi ng UK Health Ministry na wala silang plano na pumasok sa isinusulong na plano ng Pilipinas. Pero tiniyak nilang mamamahagi sila ng mga sobrang bakuna.
“We have no plans for the UK to agree a vaccine deal with the Philippines linked to further recruitment of nurses.”
Kung maalala, hinarang ng DOLE ang deployment ng mga nurses noong nakaraang taon dahil sa COVID-19 pandemic.
Ayon kay Vergeire, sakaling isulong pa rin ng Labor department ang plano ay dapat na i-konsulta ito sa Health department at Inter-Agency Task Force.
