TAGUIG CITY – Inatasan na ni Energy Sec. Alfonso Cusi ang Oil Industry Management Bureau na bantayan ang wastong implementasyon ng stakeholders sa pansamantalang dagdag na 10-percent tax sa krudo at produktong petrolyo simula ngayong linggo.
Ang dagdag buwis na ito ay alinsunod sa nilagdaang Executive Order 113 ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte noong May 2. Layunin ng 10-percent import tax na makadagdag sa pondo ng gobyerno laban sa pandemic na coronavirus disease (COVID-19).
“Upon the release of EO 113, our Oil Industry Management Bureau immediately met with industry stakeholders to discuss the way forward, including their strict compliance with the EO’s guidelines,” ani Sec. Cusi.
Nilinaw ng Energy secretary na maaari lang ipataw ang dagdag buwis kapag naubus na ng oil companies ang kani-kanilang imbentaryo na binili bago nilabas ng Malacanang ang nasabing kautusan.
“Projections based on their inventory reports indicated that the added costs might be included beginning the third week of June (14-20 June 2020).”
Ayon sa DOE, nananatiling mababa ang presyo ng langis kahit naglalaro sa P1.50 hanggang P1.60 kada litro ang dagdag sa presyo ng mga produktong petrolyo. Kung susumahin daw kasi ang mga naging rollback mula Enero, pumalo na sa P6.72 kada litro ang sa gasolina. Habang sa diesel at P9.99 kada litro, at P13.69 sa kada litro ng kerosene.
“Protecting our consumers is always our top priority. We will not allow any unfair practice to derail consumer interests, especially given the challenges we continue to face in the midst of the pandemic.”
Nakasaad sa EO 113 na agad mawawala ang implementasyon ng naturang dagdag buwis kapag naglabas ang Energy department ng certification na naabot na ang trigger price, o hindi kaya’y natapos na ang pagpapatupad sa Bayanihan to Heal as One Act.
Sa ngayon, ang kompanyang Shell Philippines pa lang daw nakapagsimulang magpataw ng tariff adjustment sa mga proudktong diesel nito, sa 644 nilang liquid fuel retail outlets.
